Son Seung-wan (손승완), better known by her stage name Wendy (웬디), is a South Korean singer. She is a member of the girl group Red Velvet.
She was born on February 21, 1994 in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, South Korea.
She was cast into SM Entertainment through the SM Global Audition in Canada in 2012. In March 2014, she was introduced as part of SM's pre-debut training team SMROOKIES. Before her debut, in the same year, she released the song "Because I Love You" for the soundtrack of the drama Mimi. She officially debuted in 2014 as a member of Red Velvet.
Wendy has participated in songs for various soundtracks, such as "Return" for the drama Who Are You: School 2015, "Let You Know" for D-Day, and "I Can Only See You," with her Red Velvet band mate Seulgi, for Hwarang.
In December 2016, Wendy featured on the English version of the song "Vente Pa' Ca" by the famous Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin.
