Bae Joo-hyun (배주현), better known by her stage name IRENE (아이린), is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress, MC, and model. She is a member of the girl group Red Velvet, August 12 2014.
She was cast into SM Entertainment in 2009, through a public audition. In 2013, he was introduced as part of SM's pre-debut training team SMROOKIES. Before her debut, in 2013, she appeared in the music videos of SHINee's "Why So Serious" and Henry's "1-4-3". She officially debuted in 2014 as a member of Red Velvet.
In July 2016, Irene made her acting debut as the female lead in the web drama Women at a Game Company. In October 2016, she became a host of OnStyle's fashion show Laundry Day, and in the same month she joined the show Trick & True as a panelist with her Red Velvet band mate WENDY.
