Huang Zitao (黄子韬), better known by his stage name Tao (타오) (or currently Z.Tao), is a Chinese rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He is a former member of the boy group EXO and its sub-group EXO-M.
He was born on May 2, 1993 in Qingdao, Shandong, China.
In 2015, he filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and left EXO. He won the lawsuit in China, but lost in Korea. He remains under contract until 2022.
Tao had sustained multiple injuries while a member of the group. Both while performing and starring on reality shows. This included injuries to his back, hands, feet and later, even a broken leg. It was a main reason why he left EXO.
He later established his own entertainment company L.TAO ENTERTAIMENT in China.
In December 2019, for his eighth anniversary of being announced as member of EXO, Tao posted a single entitled “The Best of Us” to Instagram. In the post he tagged former EXO members Luhan and Kris. The lyrics of the song are a direct message to his fans as well as the members of EXO.
